I am finding it pretty had to find a quiet place to take the time I need to study anything at all, so tonite as I sat down in front of the laptop Skye crawled up on the couch with me and did her homework with me, I thought it was the sweetest thing ever... She said she would help me if i should need it..

1-12-11 ahhh ok so i found out i had to drop chem and take it on line, where i have videos and well labs, but i pretty much have to teach myself.. why? so i can apply to the school of nursing on march 1.. I started the course yesterday and i have taken it two modules in a section at a time, i finally finished mod one tonite, i took the firs test, and i did the lab... This is me having lab time, LOL it was about beakers and safety equipment.. the good part is it is tailored to nurses

I took a few minutes out last night to read some of my anatomy book while Graham was watching Sherlock Holmes, I don't know which was more boring, LOL I have lecture today, hopefully things make more sense to me later today

I have my anatomy lab on Friday afternoon, and I was just told we need gloves for the lab and saftey glasses as well. I wasn't sure where else to get saftey glasses so i went to home depot to get some, and Graham had the great idea to look for the gloves there.. I found some black ones that arent latex, they are nepril, and they feel much nicer than latex.. well the box had been opened and i wanted a diff one, the guy said he could give me a buck off so i took it... GOt them home and inside under 10 pairs of the disposable gloves was a pair of really nice expensive work gloves... not bad seems as i paid 3 bucks for the box of gloves, but bad because i need more than the 10 pairs of disposables that I got... oh well, off to amazon I went and bought what I needed, and I guess G has a new pair of workin gloves..

today was a big day for me. I started school again.. It is funny how things come full circle for people, me included.. I refused to go to the community college back home in Michigan, I wanted to go away, stay in the dorms etc... I went to grand valley state and partied, met a bad crowd, drank myself to academic probation and finally quit.. I worked full time and finally decided to go back to school, finished up a BA at Davenport University and wouldnt you know never really used it... sad state of affairs... Well I am now re-married to a wonderful man who decided my dreams were important, and has encouraged me to go back to school, to do what I should have always have done.. Nursing... So RN it is... I am proud of me, and happy that he believes in me so much.. and hmm i kinda like the hello kitty backpack too :) cheers to all

the last of week organization :) Next weeks theme is going to be back to school, seems as i go back to college next week... This picture is Graham.. My mom gave us all these fantastic boxes that we used as stockings.. I emptied mine out already and filed it up with yarn, was just waiting on G to empty his so I can put his looms and yarn in his and finish cleaning up the yarn area in house... Been a great week!

I am so excited, Amazon said that I should get my box tomorrow hoooray project life here i come : ) so i will have my album tomorrow.. Today's pic goes along the same lines as clean it up and organize that I have used all week... I took the kids to Toys r us tonite to get the gift cards used up, they each had 40 bucks, and well seems as you cannot even walk in their rooms i said one toy and you are both buying a DS case for your gaming systems.. I am tired of lost games, broke stylus' everywhere, so we bought super duper cases that took half their gift cards up, whine whine whine, but hey it makes mom happy... I also let them get a littelest petshop and a nerf gun, alls well that ends well... Happy organizing week... Next week is back to school week, seems as i start down the road to college : )

It is simply amazing to me how fast Christmas sneaks up on us and how fast it is gone, yet we try to recover from the holiday for what seems weeks.. I decided this was all going to be taken care of the first week of January this year, kids rooms cleaned, christmas stuff all put away, and the house organized.. today we took the tree and all the decorations down and put them all away, hopefully tomorrow I tackle SKyes room, lol we shall see...

So todays picture goes with the theme for the week in my project life album, i snapped the boxes and bags etc before we stuffed it all into it's place under the stairs...

Who doesn't love an anything goes challenge??? You can find one Here.. Creative Inspirations is hosting the challenge this week.. So what did i make? I made a recipe card.. The stamp on the front is a blackbird on a pie, and you can find that at Stretch and Bubbles.. The rest of the stamps came from stampin up! I used the stamp on the front and the recipe is on the back... I attached a little red and white gingham ribbon : )

Today i decided to partake in the etsy inspired challenge at their challenge blog. I decided to right away because of the picture they posted from sand box studios... It is a bright flower box. So super cute... Here is my card..

The stamp is from Stretch and Bubbles, it is called Raggedy Sunflower. I created the card with designer papers, inked the edges so they pop a bit, then used some cute rick rack.. I colored the image with copic markers and finished it up with some super cute prima flowers and used a brad as the middle of the flower..

I used some basic grey papers and colored her in with copic markers.. today i am entering the quotes challenge at my time to craft.... It is birthday season in my house, it sounds funny I know, but it is, My nephew was March, my son Jake was the 16th, My daughters is May 21, so spring is dubbed B-day season : ) The card making is easy when you have gorgeous stamps like the ones you get in the cake stand group... Here is my cute card I made with the stamp, it is an easel card.. easel cards are easy you can make them as wide as you like, i just sliced a piece of stampin up cardstock in half, i then scored it by thirds, the top third i attached the image to, the bottom third i used pop dots and put a scallop with the sentiment on it so when i slide the top third up it is held in place by the pop dot.. I colored th eimage with copic markers and added ribbon

I then backed in green and orange stampin up papers and then used my asian kanji stamps to decorate the card background. i then highlighted with a white gel pen.. My card is stampin up cardstock. I used some creative memories paper ribbon and a prima flower with a random button on it for the embellies.. The chick was printed off and colore with my copics, highlited with a white pen. THe image is mounted in two designer papers one from stampin up on from k and company... the sentiment is from smarty pants, and reads you're one of the good ones in case my photog is a bit small.. How did i achieve this look?? I colored the image with copics, and then layered in some DP papers and then used the best Creative memories embellies, paper flowers and ribbon, yeap paper... Ok so many of you may not know that I do not like birds, they actually freak me out, I won't go to an aviary with the kids etc, lol.. I have no idea why but I do have that fear... LOL with that said i bring you this Friday's lovely image from Alison over at Stretch and Bubbles. It is a bird image, and I have to say I LOVE IT I had a blast coloring him in. I can only image the possibilities that you could use him for.. I made mine and aqua blue and added silver embellishments for his tail, the ideas are endless... post your creations with him so I can see :)

Raggedy love

Happy Friday everyone! I absolutely love Friday's... It isn't that I have the grind of going to the office everyday as I am blessed to stay home, but it just means time with my family : ) I am looking forward to a fun filled weekend... I also love Friday's because there is a new image at Stretch and Bubbles.. That means I get new toys to play with!! Hooray! so this weeks stamp is a cute one that reminds me of a raggedy anne angel... Perfect for valentines day cards...

Here is my card.. Colored with copics, and I honestly used scraps of paper so I am not sure where i pulled it from... I distressed with Jim Holtz ink, used sooe Michaels ribbon and some random buttons i found on my desk.. (what can i say i was cleaning house) and look how cute she turned out.. The sentimet is from the dollar bin at michaels..

Today I was upstairs creating my normal cards for my weekly DT duties and I thought hmmm I think i am going to make one for fun, for a challenge, and i came across the GoGo boots stamp from Stretch and bubbles, so very cute... And as many of you know I am a sucker for cute sentiments, and I was able to use one of my favorites with this stamp... Well I was looking thru my challenges and came across the Etsy Inspired challenge and had to join... I colored the image from STRETCH AND BUBBLES with copic markers, and then did some hand stitching along the borders with my stampin up markers. I then adhered to raspberry stampin up paper and a green print paper from creative memories.. I added some paper shapes that included the print basic Grey paper, stamped my sentiment which is a Bella stamp, and then added some ribbon and some fabulous buttons from the button jar stash...

I was taking a break from my court shows (i have no idea why i watch them) and knitting and came over to my email andit said i comments on my blog, I moderated them and saw a comment from ALison over at Stretch and bubbles, awww... It said she left something for me on her blog, and looky it was a sweety award... First of all thank you for thinking of me, and your kind words... You can see Alisons amazing creations on her blog Alison's Blog

It says that I am to list 10 things that I am thankful for...

1. I am thankful for my son and my daughter, they are my life, I am so happy they are happy, healthy and loving little people.. They have held me together when i thought everything was lost... They show me everyday that no matter what we have each other...

2. I am thankful for Graham, my husband.. He is everything to me, he is a dad to my kiddos, when he doesn't have to be, he steps in, steps up and fills those shoes with no questions, concerns, complaints.. I am thankful for his faith, strong hands and big shoulders, he holds me up, helps me believe, and has givin me the best gift of all, Hope.. He completes me..

3. I am thankful for my friends, we are a tight group, we roll deep and have each others backs. ALthough I am far away now we are all still close in our hearts and that makes me smile..

4. I am thankful for second chances..

5. I am thankful to God, the person he has made me into. One that is able to forgive, help, understand, and believe in the greater things.. The special gifts he has given me, and his unending love and forgiveness, without faith I would be totally lost..

6. My mom and brother.. what can i say? My best friends in everything. mom you once said if anything you hope you gave me wings so i can fly, thanks for those they got me to a second chance..

7. Thankful for a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and the means to provide..

8. Memories.. ok so i stole this from ALison, but it rings true. In my heart I am thankful for the ability to hold on, look back and cherish or learn from the past..

9. My hands.. in them i am able to create so many beautiful things from cards, to drawing, to knitting, sewing, scrapbooking... I am thankful for the abilities and skills that i possess...

10. Time.. I am thankful to just get up and have another day with 1-9

I am so sad my computer is broken, but so happy that the day before it broke I printed off like 4 of Alison's images so i could play, procrastination paid off cause now the hard drive is locked up with all my images and I only have the few I printed off, lol.. Sure sure I would knit and purl, but only long rows.. lol I didn't even know how to finish something off so i never really made anything... Well The projects started with washcloths, I made them, they were a bit loose, i look at the ones I made then and what I can do now just a month later and I am sorry to those i gave the first ones to (susan, yeah sorry honey) BUT I can say I am a knitter now... I have many washcloths under my belt, I have made ones that required patterns, and have designs on them, yay! and then I started a class, it is a sock class.. I am knitting the part that goes over the top of your foot and under your foot right now, sooo alls thats left will be toes, I am impressed.. I met some wonderful ladies who asked me to join their beginning class, I did, we made hats, well I finished mine, it is a cammo one for jake, and just two weeks later I finished one for graham, and a headband for skye too... I am excited as I am making a scarf right now that has an elaborate cable running down the middle... so if you don't mind taking a break from cards and paper i would like to post some of my knitting... Yeap will work for yarn! I am a horder I really am, too expensive habits, woah....

This weeks stamp is brother bear, Mine is a boy and a girl bear, notice her cute little flower? lol... So easy to use, just download and print and then size any way you need to, color as you wish and use the image for any creation you might want to use it on... I decided to make an peek a boo kind of card.. Meaning a card with a part missing in the front that you look through and see into the card...

How did i do it? I used my creative memories custom cutting system to cut the circles, I used stampin up ink in olive, and I used basic grey papers... my little glitter pen finished of the sentiment.. I hope you enjoy!

Hi guys... I got some exciting news over the holiday. I was picked to Join another design team... I know, right? who would have thought? LOL It has always been a dream of mine to do what I am doing, and now I get to represent two great digital stamp companies... how awesome.. Spike the Snowman

HAPPY NEW YEAR

BRRR it is cold outside.. Yes even here in VIrginia it has been a bit chilly, so I thought I would whip up some Snowman soup... What is that you may ask.. Well it is my super secret hot cocoa mix, some candy cane stir sticks and some marshmallows... Here are some pics of the mix...

So here is how i did this. I used an old tennis ball container. I cut some stampin up paper at 2 inches and wrapped that around the container, i made a smaller band with some shiny paper i had in my stash, measured at 1 inch wide.. I used an image from Stretch and Bubbles.. CLICK HERE TO GO TO STRETCH AND BUBBLES Spike is his name... I colored him with colored pencil, and blended the colors with a stump and gamsol. I then attached him to the matching card stock from the band. I found some ribbon in the dollar area at Michaels last year, and used that for around the lid. I traced the circle cut it out in the same papers and attached the sentiment. I finished this up by adding k & Company snowflakes. I put in the goodies, sealed him up and he is ready for good boys and girls this winter...

Today's image is a cute kitty with a heart on his belly.. Perfect to get your valentines day cards under way... Here is my card using the image.. I used it for the challenge over at my time to craft Challenge it is an anything goes challenge..

How did i do it? Easy peasy.. I started with a white card, distressed the edges using jim holtz ink. I cut a rectangle with a shade of Basic Grey black cardstock, then added circles using my Creative memories custom cutting system, I also used the pigtails paper from CM. I distressed the circles again using jim holtz in black soot and lipstick.. I colored the kitty with colored pencils and gamsol. I then added glitter to his heart on his belly, the glitter I use is doodle bug. I added a sentiment from Stampin UP! and then finished with a pop dotted circle that i added some glitter to, and two cute buttons, a black one and i found a pink heart in my stash, last but not least some cute pink ribbon from Michaels...
